    • WORK HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours/week
    • SALARY: * Not-Ordinarily Resident: US$ 30,231 p.a. (starting salary)

    The U.S. Embassy in Rabat is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Clerk in the Public Diplomacy Section.
    BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION: The incumbent will serve as office manager for the Cultural Affairs Office in the Public Affairs Section, providing administrative and logistical support to the staff and visitors.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    NOTE: All applicants must meet all qualifications and provide supporting documentation for each criterion below
    Education: Completion of secondary education is required.
    Experience: Two to three years of secretarial, clerical, or administrative work preferably in a western-style office is required.
    Language: Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in English is required. Level 4 (fluency) in French and Arabic is required.
    Knowledge:

    • Thorough knowledge of secretarial, clerical, general administrative procedures as well as travel planning and logistics is required.
    • Knowledge of the Moroccan culture and context and Western culture and work habits are required.

    Abilities and Skills:

    • Must have strong organizational skills.
    • Must have good interpersonal skills with colleagues and visitors.
    • Good writing skills are required in English, French, & Arabic.
    • Strong grasp of Microsoft office software is required.

    SELECTION PROCESS
    When equally qualified, US Citizen EFMs and US Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
    ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

    1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
    2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
    3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
    4. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
    5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
